At their August 4th meeting, the Board of Selectmen voted to implement a mass e-mailing system to keep residents in the know regarding health issues, states of emergency and regular Town news.
“It would be for more than just events,” noted Chairman of the Board Matthew P. Albanese. “The e-mails would include useful information and alerts that would be handy during health crises and things of that nature.”
“I think it’s a great idea,” added Jerry D. Lawrence. “This is a way to reach citizens who do not have to be watching or listening at a certain time. They get the information regardless of when we send it.”
The e-mail addresses are strictly for office use only and the Selectmen will not sell the addresses nor release any personal information. Selectmen hope to begin e-mailing by the end of August.
