Application For Connection
Any person that does not have an existing water service line from the water main to the property line already installed must make application and pay the fees by November 15. No connections will be made between November 15 and April 15. Any applications received during that period will be installed after April 15 in the order in which they were received after payment of fee. (Construction of new homes in subdivisions where the water services installed from the water main to the property line have already been installed can be turned on year round as long as an application is made and fees are paid in full).
WATER SERVICES TO BUILDINGS:
· Before work can begin all fees must be paid to the Water Department
· No flared fittings are allowed anywhere.
· 1” or ¾” soft copper must be used on street from main to curb box.
· Mueller corporations with compression ends must be used at main.
· The curb stop will be used on the property line. It will be a Mueller compression with drip.
· A single plug Erie box will be used at the property line.
· All taps will be direct taps in plastic or AC pipe. If a saddle is desired, a bronze saddle must be used it will be double banded bronze Smith-Blair stlyle323.
· Plastic or soft K copper services lines can be used between house and property line.
· Plastic lines when used will be blue in color with clear interior.
· All service lines must be held 10 from any part of the septic system.
· A Mueller angle stop or compression ball valve must be used on the first valve inside the building. (NO SOLDIERED FITTINGS CAN BE USED ON THE STREET SIDE OF METER).
· A Telephone jack must be installed above the meter in all new construction. If the Water Department has to install one a $100.00 fee will be charged on the first water bill.
